FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Trees are unique and so are their locations. Because every tree varies in size, species, condition, and accessibility, we assess each job individually and provide a tailored estimate before starting work. This way you get a fair and accurate price based on the actual work involved.
Yes! Dragonfly Tree Care carries $1 million liability insurance. Proof of insurance is available upon request, giving you confidence and protection throughout the project.
Pruning serves many purposes:
  • Correct leaning or weak branches
  • Remove damaged, diseased, or crossing limbs
  • Reduce hazards near structures or utilities
  • Improve tree health, structure, and appearance
Pruning often preserves more of a tree's natural value such as providing shade, wind moderation, and beauty without needing full removal.
We offer options for wood and brush disposal. For an additional cost, we can chip brush with our wood chipper, and cut wood into firewood-length pieces or manageable sizes — whichever works best for you.
At this time, we do not offer stump grinding services though it's a service we may add in the future as our team and equipment expand.
That will depend on how far away you are from us and the situation but our advice is to call us immediately and send a text or call again if no one picks up. Time is of the essence in emergencies so we will get there ASAP. If we can get there before the worst happens then it’s possible to set ropes to prevent further destruction
A certified arborist brings formal training in tree biology, safety, and proper pruning techniques, which helps ensure that your trees are cared for in a way that promotes long-term health and structural integrity. Insurance and safe practices also protect you and your property — especially important in wooded residential areas of Southern Nova Scotia.
We recommend having trees professionally inspected every 2-3 years, or sooner if you notice storm damage, dead branches, cracks in the trunk, or sudden leaning. Regular maintenance helps prevent hazards and keeps your landscape healthy and stable in the variable climate of Digby County and Yarmouth County.
Yes and no, we can work around the triplex insulated powerlines that connect to your house but the large uninsulated wires at the pole by the road we need 10 feet of clearance to the tree to work on them for safety and insurance purposes. For any issues within that clearance call NS Power.
